Hi it's Remy! Today we woke up early and went on a tour bus. It was about an hour drive to Pompeii. Pompeii is a place where Romans used to live until a volcanoe erupted and everyone died and it got covered by ashes. It wasn't found for a long time. Once we got there they gave us these listening devices with one ear earplug. Our tour guide had a speaker so you could listen to her. We learned that they had stepping stones so when they crosted the street they did not have to get wet and that some of the slaves died because they couldn't escape because they were chained to the wall. We also learned that they had stone beds and that on the side of the roads they had holes that they used to tie there animals to when they go in to the store. When they dug it up they found body prints from the people that had died. They found a dog,a slave, a four and a half year boy and a men sitting down with his hand over his mouth so he wouldn't breath in the ash. You could still see where the collar was on the dog. They knew it was a slave because they could see the print of the iron belt that people used to chain the slaves to the wall. They showed us a nice house and in one of the rooms there was a glass box you could see through in and there were skeleton bones.
After that we went to lunch. I got a pizza. Then we got back on the bus and went to the volcano. Mt Vesuvius is an active volcano that people say will erupt bigger then the last time in a couple of years. We hiked up to the top and looked inside of the volcano.
