Catching up- Rome, the Coliseum and arriving in Croatia

Hi it's Remy, I'm catching up on my posts and first I will talk about the collusseum in Rome on the 31st-today we went to the Colliseum and we got a tour. His name was Silvano. We got to see pictures from now and how it looked before. You could see the underground tunnels below where the wood floor used to be. There used to be sand on top of the wood for the fights. But it's all been destroyed. Most of the seats aren't even seats anymore. They were just ramps. Any seats left were roped off. There also used to be a canopy for shade. How it got destroyed was by stone thieves and just being there for a long time. We got to dress a paper gladiator with cut out pieces of armour in different colors and we got to choose our favorite. We got to see the old school for gladiators. Then we went to the Roman Forum. Amsterdam and Denver

October 11th On the 11th, we were in Amsterdam. We ate breakfast and then rented bikes. We biked to this park where we ate lunch. It had a really awesome playground with a zip line. I got tomato soup which is a big thing in the Netherlands. Anyway, we biked some more and then returned the bikes around 7. We went back to our place and packed up. My dad went and got schwarma for us. It was really good! October 13th On the 13th, it was our first day in Denver. We came for my dad's friend son's bar mitzvah. We stayed with my mom's friend, Juliet. We went to the park with her 2 sons and Remy. We also played on their neighbors trampoline. I got my front handspring and almost a front flip! We had spaghetti and meatballs for dinner. October 15th Today, I'm sick. I was sick all yesterday, so I couldn't go to the bar mitzvah. I threw up last night all over the bed. last day on sailboat

Hi its Remy! I am posting for September 8th the day. In the morning we walked around and we saw a really cute dog named Bob Marley. Then we headed out of the port in Milna and headed back to Split. Then we walked around and said bye to our skipper Lammi. Then we ate dinner at a sushi place the sushi was really good. Split is really cool because of its playgrounds. Why? Because they have things that the USA does not have. Like see saws. It was the last night we sleped in the sail boat .

Toilets without Toilet Seats?🚽

Hey! It's Ella! So the interesting thing about Italy is that the public bathrooms are NASTY! So we decided to have some fun and create an Instagram account to review toilets!😂Also there is a surprisingly number of no toilet seats that we have noticed. We looked this up and found that th e reason why it says toilet seat is because a lot of toilets in Italy don't have one. But they have a place where one used to be. We looked this up and the reason why they don't have them is because people stand on them and break them! Crazy! Then, they don't replace them for one of the two reasons: Either they just know it's going to happen again so they don't care or they try to but give up because they can't find one that matches. Here's why: In America if you go to Home Depot to pick out a toilet seat, you have two options: Regular and extended. It's easy to replace a toilet seat. But, if you go somewhere to find a seat in Europe, they have 50 different types! Th...

A Day on the Boat and Power Outage

Hello again! It's Ella! Today, we went on a fun adventure on a boat! We rented a speed boat in Atrani (the town we are staying in) and went up the Amalfi Coast. First, we swam and snorkeled for a while. It's amazing how clear the water was! There were a lot of small fish but not as many big fish. Maybe when we get to Croatia, we'll be able to see some bigger ones! Anyway, the water was such a pretty color blue! After we went swimming, we went to Positatno. We took the water taxi in from our boat which was really cool! Then, we went shopping and got gelato and a lemon slush! Mmmmmm! On our way back to the boat, I bought a new shirt that was really cute.😜 We went back to our boat and went swimming for a little while. Then, we came back through the town square and bought a bunch of stuff to make dinner and groceries. Once we were back at our place, we took time to clean it up. Amsterdam

Today we woke up and got ready . Then we got a donut .Then we took an uber to the Van Gogh museum . On the audio guides there was a family treasure hunt but I was the only one to do it . I finished it and got a sticker and a postcard. Then we got Lunch. After lunch we went to a flower market. I got a piggy bank and a magnet. Then we went home and took a nap. Then we took a tram to the Ann Frank house. Then we got dinner I got fish . After that we went to the Anne frank house. It was really really cool . We saw her whole home and her original dairy. A Recap of Rome and Croatia!!!!

Hi!!!! It's Ella! Sorry we haven't posted in a while, we've been super busy in Rome and Croatia! August 30th On August 30th, we left the Amalfi Coast and took a ferry and then a train to Rome. To get to Rome on our train, there was a transfer, and our train was running 10 minutes late, so we missed our connecting train. But it was fine because there was a train 10 minutes later!😋 Also, while my dad was buying tickets, we went in the havianna store, and they had all of the colors you could possibly think of and definitely not find in the US!!!! It was crazy! My mom wanted to buy a pair, but we had to run for our train! 😣😜 Anywho, once we got to Rome, we checked into our Bed and Breakfast Hotel and took a nap and went to the Trevi Fountain and dinner. A Day In Naples and Amalfi Coast

Hi! It's Ella! Today, we woke up at our small hotel in Naples. We got dressed and walked to our first meal for lunch. It was Italian of course.😜 I got the Gnocchi with red sauce and mozzarella (Pictured). Yummmmmmmm! Then, we walked to get Gelato. 🍨I got chocolate. The place we got it in was this covered old shopping area called Galleria Umberto. It was built in 1887. The king ordered for it to be built when Naples was doing bad economically to show that they were wealthy. Anyway, we walked back to our hotel and a taxi took us to our airbnb in the Amalfi Coast. You have to walked through all the little alleyways to get to our place. It's amazing how safe it is here! We unpacked and went to dinner. Our dinner wasn't as good as lunch but it fed us.😊 The instresting thing was that they brought out a drink for everyone including Remy and I. We tried it and half of us thought had alcohol in it and the other 2 didn't. I th...

Me mopping At lunch At the beach after getting barried Hi it's Remy! Today I mopped our place. Italians have a different kind of mop. It looks like those things you wash a window with. They cut a hole in a rag and and put it in through the pointy tip of the handle. It was fun. Then we went to lunch in Amalfi. I had fish. Then my mom and my sister went shopping in Amalfi and me and my Dad went to the beach. Then me and my dad went to get gelato and bought groceries for dinner. It was a lot.

Thoughts on Key West

Hello again! It’s been awhile! The last time we posted was October 15th, 2017. We got home a day after that, moved into an Airbnb until we found our new house. We’ve been in it for a little over a year now. Now, we’re in Key West for our spring break. Here our my thoughts- It could not be more beautiful here! Everywhere you go, there’s a new type of flower growing next to the road. You’ll see orchids growing in people front yards! The food is amazing. We’ve eaten a lot of fish and shellfish. Last night, we had oysters, steamed clams, and conch. If you come to Key West, know that dolphin fish isn’t actually real dolphin, it’s a type of fish very similar to mahi mahi. As for deserts, The key lime pie is great and we’ve been loving the local ice cream and bakery’s and were very excited to see a Häagen-Dazs store! I would recommend renting bikes- the island is small but walking everywhere would take a long time. It’s much easier and more fun to rent bikes. It’s very safe and a lot of ...
